ASSISTANT NEEDED for this blog & Importance of Car Spec's...

I need like minded Assistant(s) to maintain this blog. BUT No pay at the moment, it's volunteer basis... Have you noticed that at the moment I only post 1 used car review PER MONTH? It's because I have little time to do the research and writeup. The writeup and user reviews part is pretty easy. The problem is it's difficult to find the specifications of the subject cars. Well, I can make do without the specifications, but somehow I'll feel that something is missing in the review...

I'm disappointed that MOST current Malaysian car publications seems to exclude/Ignored car specifications.

- CARS.MY used to have car specifications in the 1st few issues, they seems to exclude it by issue 10.
- Asian auto dropped the detailed Specifications @ 2001, since Mel Lee left the publications.
- AUTO INTERNATIONAL also joined the bandwagon. Latest issue (march 07) have NO MORE Car SPECIFICATIONS... Used to enjoyed their car specifications...
- HYPERTUNE: Well, they are focusing on DIY, Modified Cars, Chicks and Car accessories stuff so I'm not surprised...
- CARMA, well what do you expect from RM5 (as at December 06) car magazine... Again, No car specifications.

- The saving grace is AUTOCAR ASEAN and GET@CAR, Autocar ASEAN have DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS, but normally on Cars tested in UK, mostly not available in Malaysia, for cars on sale in Malaysia, their specification's pretty brief. For GET@CAR, the specifications's there but again, it's quite brief... Well, AT LEAST it's better than nothing...

Let me tell you why car specifications is important. Say, Mitsubishi Triton OR SSANGYONG REXTON, Besides performance, Power/Torque, I need to know the Dimensions of the car, especially Length and width of the car. This is to see whether it can fit into my Porch and for side parking allowance. Also, the Weight is to calculate the Power/Weight and turning circle of the car, to . IT MIGHT NOT BE IMPORTANT for Normal cars, but for BIG CARS/SUV/TRUCK, it's ESSENTIAL...

ALSO, for the benefits of our friends studying Automotive Engineering, they need to know the BorexStroke, Compression ratio, Gear ratio and stuff...

WELL, knowing Mr.Mel Lee (of CARS.MY) which is famous for insisting he's right, he'll probably argue that "YOU CAN GET IT (the specifications) from its SHOWROOM". TYPICALLY, for most car salesman, entering their showroom = ready to buy/commit. BUT I only need the car/trucks specifications. Get the scenario?

Oh! Mr Mel, According to your ISSUE 4 of Cars.my (where you have S2000 as cover), in the subscription corner, there's this "ANNUAL BUYER'S GUIDE" promise (is it to subscribers only?), where is it... I've been waiting since 2001!!! I've been buying CARS.MY from Issue 1 to Issue 40, I stopped buying because your magazine is kinda WEIRD. I mean, what's a COMPARISON without the "SIDE BY SIDE Specifications" of the subject cars... ALSO, the Hyundai Getz review, this joker writer supposingly "OWNER" of Getz SCRUTINISED the NEW GETZ 1.4 badly... Being FRANK is one thing, but this is too MUCH! Shows that you're ungrateful to the KIND Distributor which provides the car for you to assess...

Also, some SUPERCARS's hard to find specifications. What is the point for reviewing a supercar without its specifications (eg. ASIAN AUTO Lamborghini review, another publication's Pagani ZONDA review). Nuff Said...
