Close up: Honda CR-Z Sports Hybrid

 In this blog entry, I'm posting about my close encounter with the Sportiest Hybrid by Honda.  This happened to be a 6 speed Manual.  Ie. the only Manual Hybrid.  Touted as Sporty Fun to drive.  It's affordable too at RM115,000 and RM121,000 OTR with insurance for the recently launched CVT Automatic Gearbox.  Do check out/test drive the Hybrid at your nearest Honda Showroom.  Tell me how's it like.

This Hybrid's fully Imported from Japan.  This makes it a Value buy. 

Initially came with 1 colour (White Pearl), now it comes with 3 additional colours.  Ie. Silver, Milano Red and Black. 

MECHANICAL:

Powered by I4 1.5L SOHC I-VTEC + IMA and fuel injected.  Compression ratio 10.4.  It generates 124ps@6000rpm (Gasoline + Motor) and 174Nm@1000-1500rpm of torque (CVT's 1ps and 7Nm less) mated with either 6 speed manual or CVT with 7 speed paddle shift.

SUSPENSION Wise's identical to the Insight hybrid.  Disappointing Torsion-beam rear suspension.  BUT AT LEAST it comes with 4 discs brakes + ABS + EBD + BA + VSA (Traction Control). 6 airbags (2 fronts, 2 sides and 2 Curtains).  3 driving styles Sport / Normal and ECO.

EQUIPMENTS HIGHLIGHTS:

ECON MODE with Illuminated advance sports meter with Multi-info display and scoring system. Auto Climate Control Air-cond, Electric Power steering.  6 speakers ICE (In Car Entertainment) with USB and Aux Jack, IPod compatible, ISOFIX Child seat Anchor mount, Security system with Immobilizer.

I now let the pictures do the talking as I can't drive MANUAL car, only Manual version available for test drive.  I forgotten how to drive Manual car.
