In this blog entry, I'm posting my 68th month ownership report of i10 1.25 CVVT.  I bought this i10 back in March 2013 at RM45,500.  It's because of Year make subsidy (YM 2012) and 10% Staff discount.  Today, You can buy a Better Spec'ced 2017 car for RM39,888 without insurance.  Stocks limited...  1st come 1st serve based on LOU.  Hurry!

What you gained:

Mileage last update: 62,736km (22 March 2018)

 Mileage today: 70,638km (28 October 2018)

Mileage done past 7 months: 7,902km

Average mileage per month: 1128km (past 12 months)

Average mileage per day: 36.2km

OVERALL Average mileage per month: 1034.5km

OVERALL Mileage per day: 34.5km.

Purchase price: RM45,500 (cause Year Make 2012 registered 2013 March)

Current value: RM21,000.

Interest rate: 2.96% (PBB) for 48 months loan @ 25,000.

 Monthly RM582.

 FUEL CONSUMPTION SO FAR:

 BEST: 14.7km/l . RM70 =  457km.

 WORST: 9km/l.  RM70 = 270km. 100% CITY.

COMBINED AVERAGE: 11.5km/l.

Expenses:

1) 1 service. Previous service RM298.00  - Fully Synthetic.

2) Petrol (average RM220 per month) and toll (once a month top up RM30)

3) Wipers.  Front Silicon RM70, rear Bosch RM15 total (RM85)

4) Front Brake pad labor - RM15 (bought back in March)

5) DBKL Summons - RM30.

SHOULD YOU BUY THIS CAR?

This is a Very Solid car with decent soundproofing, Great Ride and handling and high speed stability.  Check out the Top speed: 175km/h.  And 0-100km/h in 12.2 seconds.

 Test drive to agree with me.  There's a reason behind...

Apparently the i10's Engineered, designed and tuned in India.  This is to meet Indians requirements.  This explained the Robustness of the chassis and suspension.  Built to take on Indian Roads...  If the i10 can survive Indian Roads, then Malaysian road conditions are piece of cake.  

Note that our i10s are CKD, but the CKD pack Came from INDIA.  The i10's only produced in 3 countries and NONE are Korea.  It's Kulim, Malaysia, Chennai India and Mexico.  

OVERALL I have NO REGRET Buying this Hyundai i10.  Rating 9/10.

LONGTERMER 5, i10 1.25 CVVT - 30TH month report (vol 4)

In this blog entry, I'm writing about my ownership experience of the Inokom Hyundai i10 1.25 Kappa CVVT. This is the 30th month report. As I'm typing this, Current mileage of the white Hyundai i10's 22,600km.

From 1 December 2013 to 7 June 2015, the Hyundai i10 was leased to my tenant.  Apparently, my tenant just helped us to pay the monthly installment while he used the car.  This is what Malay called "Sambung Bayar".

 Mileage leased out on 1 December 2013 was 11,043km.  Mileage returned on 7 June 2015 stood at 17,660km.  Mileage covered by my tenant, a paltry 6,617km only over 19 months, 368km per month only. Apparently, he only commuted to and fro work within Petaling Jaya.


How's the car?

The car was returned in satisfactory condition.  Sent to Service 1 week after taking back the car.  Used Fully Synthetic oil.  17759km.  Service cost RM403.25.  Flushed ATF oil.

On 8 August 2015, the i10 experienced Overheating issue.  There's no water temperature gauge, only Orange Check engine light warning accompanied by Air Cond suddenly Blown Hot air.  I then slowly drive to nearest Hyundai service centre in Jln 222, 2km away.  E-kars Services Sdn Bhd.

The service adviser Joey's kind enough to look at my car despite them closed at 5pm.  I was there at 5:50pm.  Apparently, my radiator rusted quite badly due to my tenant did not use Coolant (it was tap-water filled).  The i10 was left there to cool down.  Monday resume work as they rest on Sunday.  On, Monday, Joey told me The radiator rust spread to Radiator hose and Throttle body. Both needed replacement.

Joey said need to fork out RM1300 total damage.  She then proceeded to file for warranty claim.  6 days later, my i10 was ready to collect.

Note that this i10 was sitting in Kah Bintang Yard for 11 months before it was registered to me.  2012  April make registered 2013 March.  I believe this is part of the reason why the radiator rusted.

After the repair, the i10 gradually became more and more Fuel efficient.  From 10.2km/l gradually improved to 12.5km/l.  Highest recorded was 14.7km/l.  RM60 fuel good for 430km.  This was recorded during my trip from SS24, PJ to Kuala Selangor and back 210km using half-tankful only.  The next day, KLIA trip.

On 29 August, I changed my front 2 tyres to Roadstone Nexen Nfera SU4.  See my report here:

Overall, this is a GOOD car.  Very stable at high speed.  Top speed I tried at 170km/h slight downhill.  At that speed wind noise was minimal.  Only, engine noise...  0-100km/h's covered in 12.2 secs.  Not bad for a 1250cc A-segment car.

 WORST: 9.3km/l.  RM60 = 316km. 100% CITY.

 COMBINED AVERAGE: 11.8km/l.

1) Service Full Synthetic RM403.25
2) Roadstone Nexen Nfera SU4 - RM260.
3) New Throttle body, radiator hose...  FOC.  Claim warranty.  Just paid RM63.60 coolant fee.
4) Petrol, parking and tolls...
