CLOSE UP: Mazda BT-50 SUT

In this blog entry, I'm posting a Close up of MAZDA New SUT (Sports Utility Truck).  It's no other than Mazda BT-50.  It's an odd TWIN to Ford Ranger T6.  While the Ford Ranger T6 passed off as HANDSOME, MACHO Truck, this one's acquired taste.  My friends' finds it ugly but I quite like the design.

MECHANICALLY, this truck's IDENTICAL in Engine, gearbox and Suspension with the New Ranger T6.  Price wise, it's few hundreds cheaper for Both 2.2 Manual and 2.2 Auto at 89,841 and 95,552 OTR Respectively.  The Icing on the Cake's the 3.2 engine.  It's cheaper than the Ranger Wildtrak by RM9,800 at RM107,066. But that's a catch though, it lost 2 airbags (side), Elec adjustable driver front seat, Semi-leather seats, 18" Wheels, bodykits, Cruise Control.

An interesting note's the 2.2 Manual and Auto's better specced  than the Ranger T6, it has Automatic Dual Zone Climate Control Air cond across the range (For Ranger T6 only the 3.2 Wildtrak has this feature, the 2.2 gets Manual Air Cond).  The Mazda BT-50 2.2 Auto has essential item Hill Descent Control, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) with Traction Control.

Well, let's proceed to photos as it speaks 1000 words.  Enjoy:

Note: Rear seatback's slightly more upright than the Ford Ranger T6.

In a nutshell, if you want a Cheaper Ranger, more equipped for 2.2 variants and less equipped for 3.2 model at RM9,800 off topped with MUCH better After sales service/support by BERMAZ, this is the truck for you.  Overall rating: 9/10 for 2.2 and 8/10 for 3.2 (too bare next to Ranger Wildtrak).
That's all folks, thanks for having the time and patience to read this blog entry.  An original Jeff Lim's production.  Not to be "Copied" without credits or links.  "COPY" like A MAN.  Don't plagiarise.

Don't listen to some of the heavily biased Australian reviews which are sponsored massively by VW.
The new automatic models: BT 50 is fantastic and so it the new Ford Ranger.
I owned a Triton and I am surprisingly impressed bu the new models from Mazda and Ford.

I test driven Mazda bt50 and found it to be very classy. Gusty engine with none of the awful bumpiness for back passengers.

  4. Bt50 is wonderful to drive!

I think no other similar priced pick ups in Malaysia can compare to the 2.2 model right now!
