Myvi 10th Anniversary Celebrations

Last weekend, Perodua Hosted a MEGA Event at Setia Eco Park to commemorates Myvi's 10th birthday Celebrations.  These includes launching of MYVI Gear-up Accessories, Myvi 10th anniversary special edition (more on this later) and Malaysia Book of  Records Attempt (also to cover later).  Yours truly was there in both days.

The Perodua Myvi was launched 10 years ago.  Since then, it's been an astounding success.  The Myvi overtook Proton Wira in 2006 as Malaysia's best selling car.  For eight years in a row, the Myvi maintained the No.1 best selling passenger car title.  Over 850,000 units sold over 10 years.

On 25 May 2005, the Iconic Myvi was launched in Malaysia.  Designed with passion and commitment for Malaysians, it served the needs of many people.  34,038 units were sold at the 1st year of launch.
In 2007, the Myvi SE were introduced.  Total cumulative sales stood at 199,071 units.  On a personal note, My sister bought a Silver MYVI 1.3SXI which served her reliably for 5 years.
In 2009, Perodua Myvi received a mild facelift and bolder SE variant.  By end of 2009, culmulative sales 377,891 units.
In 2011, Perodua launched the 2nd generation Myvi.  The Tagline "Lagi Best" and later Lagi Power Lagi Best (for 1.5SE) introduced.  On a personal note, My dad bought 1 1.5SE "Lagi Power lagi best", which passed to my sister 1 year later (she sold off her 1.3SXi for RM28,000.  A great resale value after 5 years ownership).  The only minor defect in her 1.3SXI was the 12v socket failed.  Sales figures for year ended 2011 was 537,452 units.
The Malaysian Icon was made better this year with Electric Power steering, Anti-snatch handbag hook, Redesigned cupholders and rims at lower price.
