LONGTERMER #4 Vol 6 FINALE: MYVI 1.5SE+

In this blog entry, I'm updating my family's ride. This is the 18th month we owned the MYVI 1.5SE+.  This is the 10th month since My sister took over the MYVI 1.5SE. She even called this car "BUMBLEBEE". 


THIS IS THE LAST UPDATE OR FINALE report of this MYVI Bumblebee.  Mileage of the car's now 22,000+ km.  Averaged 2000km per month clocked!  

Recently, over the past 2 months, the MYVI SE been to the service centre twice. 

 1 for 20,000km oil change (very cheap: below RM250 only).  It's a good thing that Perodua opted for Synthetic oil and 10,000km service interval.  Unlike Honda and Proton which still stick to 5,000km service interval. 

 The 2nd trip to service centre was for "PRODUCT RECALL".  Perodua Recall all their MYVI 1.5 SE - 20,000 units affected.  So my Bro-in-law, Bryan took the MYVI to update the "Electric Power Steering". 

I'm sad to say that there's a SERIOUS "Setback" preventing me to cover this car in the future.  Since September 23 onwards, my sister moved to Klang to stayed with her husband.  She'll tag this Bumblebee along.  But this is a blessing in disguise, as the Bumblebee gets to EXERCISED daily to and fro from BUKIT TINGGI, Klang to Damansara Uptown, then to PJ Old town  Yup, isn't it sweet, the newly weds carpooled to work?

This means that I'll STOP updating this LONGTERMER, Myvi 1.5SE NOW.  THIS IS THE GRAND FINAL UPDATE!   So it ENDS at VOLUME 6.  Sad but true...

Without further ado, let's proceed to Logbook:

Mileage upon delivery: 0023km
Mileage last update:11,522km (23 September 2012)

Mileage as at 25 March 2013: 24365km

Mileage used from 24 Sept to 25 March:  12483km

Average mileage per month:

 Last update (Sept 2012): 1046km

CURRENTLY: 1220km (Average monthly mileage past 20 months) - From October to March 28 (today).  Normal lah, Every WEEKDAY (Mon to Fri) travel from Bandar Puteri Klang to PJ to and fro workplace.  That's AT LEAST 60km (up to 80km per day) return journey per day already.

Purchase price: RM54,000 (less 55% NCB)
Interest rate: 2.95% @ RM42,000. Public bank for 5 years loan.

FUEL CONSUMPTION:

ALL TIME:
Best: 16.87km/l,  Ipoh trip - November 2012.  515km from 30.526 litres of fuel)
WORST: 8.8km/L (Shell RON95) 100% city driving driven by my me back in Jan 27 2012!  90 mins Jam at KL City (Heavy rain). 

AVERAGE: 12.3km/L (SO FAR Past 19 months)

PERFORMANCE:
0-100km/h: 11.5 seconds 3 person on board normal acceleration in "D" with Air cond on. 10.9 secs w/out Aircond and single driver

Major Expenses:

NONE over the last 2 months apart from Fuel, parking and Tolls...

LONGTERMER #4 Vol 4: Perodua MYVI 1.5SE+ Auto

In this blog entry, I'm updating my family's ride. This is the 6th month we owned the MYVI 1.5SE+.  Well, my sister sold her 2007 MYVI 1.3SXi(M) last month (mid March). See my SOLD Post... (please Double click the link) As a result she officially took over this MYVI 1.5SE+ Auto from my dad.  She even called this car "BUMBLEBEE".  This means that I can't update this blog entry as detail as I'd like to as my sister can't help me to monitor the best/worst Fuel Consumption and ownership experience of the car.  

Therefore, I'll update this "LONGTERMER" every 3 months instead and less detail compared to now.  On 13 March 2012, this Myvi Rear left tailight was a target of daring "amateur" thief in Sunwaymas Commercial Centre (along main road outside 99 Speedmart) in broad daylight (between 1.30 to 2.45pm.  He/she tried to pry open the tailight but failed, resulting in broken rear left tailight cover (I'll try to take the photo by tonight and post it here).  Posted 1902hrs.

As you can see, the main LED bulbs were not affected.  Only the surrounding cover.  A replacement today costs RM400 (outside) and RM465 from Perodua.  Wait another 6 months I was told before the price will drop.  Something to do with Economies of Scale.

The MYVI 1.5SE+ covered merely 7300km as at 20 April 2012 cause it's no longer DRIVEN HARD by my dad.  Rather, in my sister's hand, this car's used 12km total to and fro office everyday.  This is disappointing as this car's scheduled for 10,000km service on May 20 2012 (ie. less than 1 month away).  Gasp...  What to do???  

Due to the short start/stop driving by my sister, the Averaged FC dropped from 14.8km/l to 11km/l.  Worst 9.0km/l and best 13.6km/l.  Ie. Fuel Consumption increased.

WORST: 8.8km/L (Shell RON95) 80% City/20% Highway driving driven by Me. (January 27)

This 2 months:
Best: 13.6km/l (RM0.15/km). (70% highway/30% city)
Worst: 9.0km/l.  80% City, 20% highway.

PERFORMANCE:
0-100km/h: 10.9 seconds normal acceleration in "D" with Air cond on.

LONGTERMER #4 Vol 3: Perodua MYVI 1.5SE+ Auto

In this blog entry, I'm updating my family's ride. This is the 4th month we owned the MYVI 1.5SE.

Firstly, the Myvi's Fuel consumption improved.  During 2 rounds of LCCT rides (back to back), we recording a record breaking 16.8km/l.  Averaged FC now stands at 13.2km/l.  In layman's term, RM55 tank now easily topped 400km.  See "logbook" later.

Besides the earlier mentioned LCCT rides, my dad also took the car to Genting Highlands twice.

 I sent the Myvi for 5000km (5411 actually) service at Perodua Jalan Universiti (formerly section 19) on 9 February 2012.  

They temporarily moved to Jalan Universiti, beside KDU as their old premise in Section 19 being torn down and rebuilt to 6 storey 3s centre.  A Sales Executive there said Late 2014 only ready. This round, waiting time: 3 hours with appointment.

In this blog entry, I'm updating my family's ride. This is the 2nd month we owned the MYVI 1.5SE. On the 5th day owning the car, I sent the car to MAXSHINE Centre for 3 layers wax, polish, vacuum and window cleaning. The result?

Also, I discovered that the Lokatoo GPS have JUNCTION VIEW:


We did our 1st 1000km service at 13 November 2011. Waiting time 2 hours only with appointment. Right after our 1000km service, my dad took the MYVI to Genting Highlands. He was impressed with the Soundproofing (better than Civic FD2), Ride and Handling of the car.

Subsequently (IN TOTAL), he took the MVYI 1.5 SE to Genting Highlands a WHOOPING 5 times.

Under my hands, I took the MYVI to LCCT and back. It seemed the alignment is out, I need to hold the steering tightly. Also, on certain roads at speed above 120km/h the car's BUMPY until my passanger complained. The car's STABLE at speed up to 145km/h BUT BUMPY.

Heck, a Black Altis 1.8 (2005) came to "Race with me" on the way to LCCT, (that's why I drove up to 145km/h) and ended up losing. 100-140km/h is faster than the Altis 1.8.

PERFORMANCE:
0-100km/h: 10.9 seconds normal acceleration in "D" with Air cond on.
Top speed: Max I driven is 145km/h.

 CLOSE UP+BOOKED: Perodua MYVI 1.5 Lagi Power Lagi Best

 I, Jeff Lim just came back from Perodua Section 19, PJ Showroom.  I checked out the MYVI 1.5 Lagi Power Lagi Best.  Especially the SE variant.  It's because 1 of my family member already BOOKED a Greyish Blue MYVI 1.3 EZi with option to Upgrade to 1.5SE Auto. 

I was invited by my Sales Executive, Jacklyn Tan (more on her later) to the showroom to have a look at the 1.5SE Lagi Power Lagi Best.  The MYVI 1.5 is powered by 1.5 3SZ-VE Chain Driven DVVT DOHC EFI as seen in the Alza.  Max power is now 76kw (103hp)@6000rpm and Torque 136Nm@4400rpm.  This is an improvement of 17hp and 19Nm torque over the 1.3 variant.

Claimed Fuel Consumption for 1.5SE Automatic is a respectable 12.9km/l.  And claimed 0-100km/h is 12.49secs for Auto and 9.98secs for Manual which is IMPRESSIVE.

Other features were Dual Airbags, ABS+EBD+BA, Electric Power Steering, Mild bodykits (you should see the extreme version), Semi-bucket seats (Red and grey for SE) and Full Leather for 1.5 EXTREME.


Tentative price for SE starts from RM51,500 (Manual), Auto is RM54,000 and SE Auto DVD/GPS/Bluetooth is RM56,500.  The Range topper 1.5 EXTREME AUTO Multimedia Navigation costs RM61,000.

I called my dad (he's the one buying), he said "SO CHEAP" (he's expecting RM58,000), and Lo and Behold he decided to Booked a YELLOW 1.5 SE Auto DVD/Navigation/Bluetooth version.  He's already 62, mind you!  "Old Hero" (Lau Hero).

Colour choices: Majestic Solid Yellow (NEW), Solid white, Mystical Purple, Ebony Black and Glittering Silver.
