Apple Iphone 5, 4th year ownership review

Today's my 4th year Anniversary owning my Apple Iphone 5 16GB.  Bought my Iphone 5 white under Maxis One Club contract back in 27 December 2012.
I'm quite satisfied with the Iphone 5.  Back in 27 December 2012, I had a choice of Iphone 5 and Samsung Note 2 N7100.  Thank God I picked the Iphone 5.  As based on my cousin's experience, Samsung Note 2 can last barely 2 years.  Typically, the Mainboard, Screen, Digitizer or Battery will fail (at least 2 of the above).  Also, Note 2 Android update up to Kitkat only.  Unlike  IOS, my Iphone 5 now running Latest IOS 10.2.

Above: Chipped Glass Screen protector caused by Previous casing.  Below 2 photos.

So far it's a reliable, tough (due to Glass screen protector and Targus Hybrid casing) and user friendly companion. Just updated to IOS 10.2. A bit laggy while playing Subway Surfers. Camera quality's decent but terrible at Low light shooting.

The Drawbacks, 16GB barely enough. Thanks to Google Photos, managed to backup and Spring clean my photos. Now left 500+/- MB storage.

Battery replaced once Jan this year by Brotan (of Lowyat Forum) and OEM battery now shows sign of deteriorating.  Below, Screen shot of Typical battery life.

There's 2 annoying things about Iphone 5 and IOS.  Their Apps requires updating every DAY.  Yes, Everyday there's AT LEAST 1-5 apps needs updating.

There's 1 particular Annoying App that Required updates every 3-5 days.  A WHOOPING 30 updates in 6 months.  It's no other than Airbnb.  Each update 100+ MB.  Very Bad for my 16GB Iphone 5.  Latest update's version 16,49.2 (Yes, 50 updates).

Another annoyance's the Storage.  I had myself to blame by picking 16GB version.

Overall rating 9/10. Highly recommended. But get AT LEAST 64GB.

That's all folks, thanks for having the time and patience to read this blog entry.  An original Jefferson Lim's production.  Copy like a man, please acknowledge my work.  Don't plagiarize.

Subaru Impreza is the 2016-2017 Japan COTY

NOT MY WORK. Source: 1, Subaru Worldwide press release and 2) Paultan.org by Danny Tan

The Subaru Impreza has been named 2016–2017 Car of the Year Japan. The fifth-generation Impreza scored 420 points to clinch the award, ahead of the Toyota Prius (371) and B9 Audi A4 (149, wins the Import Car of the Year award). This is the second time Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) has been awarded the honour, following the Legacy’s win in 2003. The Mazda MX-5 was last year’s JCOTY winner.

The latest Impreza made its debut at the New York show in March. In about a month since its launch on October 13 in Japan, the new Impreza outsold its monthly sales target of 2,500 units by more than fourfold, with 11,050 orders.

FHI says that demand from customers switching from other brands has been notable, representing 51% of all orders. This is an indication that the Impreza is now attracting a wider range of customers in the Land of the Rising Sun, the firm suggests.

The new Subaru Global Platform underpins both sedan and hatch versions of the Impreza. It has an increased rigidity of 70% to 100% over the outgoing model, and a lower centre of gravity by 5 mm. The suspension has been setup for better comfort and Active Torque Vectoring also helps improve dynamics. The car is longer and wider than the old one.

Powering the Subaru is a revised version of the FB20 2.0 litre direct-injection boxer-four. With around 80% of parts revamped, the engine produces 152 hp, four horses more than before. The marque’s Lineartronic CVT has enhanced ratio coverage, better acceleration and fuel economy. Symmetrical AWD is standard, of course.

Subaru’s EyeSight suite of active safety functions is available. It is also the first car ever produced by a Japanese brand to include a pedestrian protection airbag as standard.

There's a strong possibility Motor Image Malaysia will CKD the New Impreza.  Fingers crossed.

FULL REVIEW: New Proton Perdana range

In this blog entry, I'm reviewing "Accordana".   The Perdana's launched back in June 2016.  Apparently, this Perdana reminds me of the Korean Movie 200lbs beauty (more on this later).  It's the Same 2008 Accord with No changes Allowed by Honda Apart from 2.0 re-skinned Half-leather and Re bodied by Bufori which makes the car 5 metres long.

Proton came up with the tagline "Like the looks.Love the Drive."

It's priced to sell at:

I had a brief 5km driving both the 2.0 and 2.4 in 2 different showrooms.  The Perdana's launched back in June 2016. Like the 2006 Korean movie, the 200lbs beauty, the 200lbs lead Actress Hanna played by Kim A-joong had plastic surgery and weight loss transformation to become Jenny.  Photo source: Wikipedia.

Despite using Jenny, as her new identity, her voice and personality's still the SAME as before.  So this Accordana's No difference.  Driving both the 2.0 and 2.4 reminded me of an Old Friend last met/driven 2008 who had plastic surgery.

The Ride and handling, performance and interior's Exactly the same as my Test drive experience of the Accord back in 2008.  What a shame Proton Not allowed to tinker with the Ride and Handling.  Cause Lotus could have improved the Ride and Handling.  The only thing Proton Perdana improved upon is the Sound-proofing.  Due to longer rear overhang, boot space enlarged slightly from 450 litres to 475 litres.  I feel the 2.0 variant more fun to drive and the black interior more classy and eye-pleasing.  Sadly, the 2.0 missed out on VSA (Traction Control) and Paddle shifters.

End of Test drive review as I only have 5km test drive for both variants.

Without further ado, let's proceed to my Youtube playlist:

Well, there's a saying a photo's worth 1000 words, enjoy the photos.

Features and Specifications as below: (Source: Brochure scans)

Above: Proton did slight changes to the Supervision cluster.

Below; Specifications, please double click to enlarge.

END OF Features and specifications.

Let's proceed to my photo gallery:

Start of Accord 2.0

Above and below, In my opinion the 2.0 Seats looks Much better and classier than the 2.4 Seats.  The 2.4 interior's Directly lifted from Accord 3.5 V6.

Boot space extended from 450 litres to 475 litres thanks to longer overhang.

END OF Accord 2.0.

Start of Accord 2.4P:

End of photo gallery.  That's all folks, thanks for having the time and patience to read this blog entry.  Partially Original Jefferson Lim's production.  Other sources are Brochure scan and Youtube playlists.  Copy like a man, don't plagiarize.

Overall Rating:
2.0: 7.5/10.
2.4: 8/10.
