Longtermer #2, Vol 27: (4th year): Honda Civic FD2 2.0IVTEC

In this blog entry, I'm updating my family's ride.  It's the Honda Civic FD2 2.0 IVTEC.  28 July 2012 was the 4th year anniversary we owned the Civic.  We took delivery of the Civic FD2 back in 28 July 2008.  Yes, time flies, it seems like yesterday my family took delivery of the Civic.
Over the past 2 months, the car's sent for 70,000km scheduled  service back in Mid July using Mineral Oil at Sumber Auto Edaran.  Last few days, the Civic emitted Whoo.... whooo.... (intermittent) sound during acceleration.  A trip to Honda Service centre incurred RM600+ repair.  This is it's 1st wear and tear repair other than the Tyres.  The Rear Wheel Bearings KO'ed.  No wonder the Civic consumed fuel.  Cause, the Civic's more fuel efficient after changing the bearings.   Back to 2010 fuel consumption recordings...
My dad drove this Civic HARD, to Penang once, Ipoh twice, 2 trips to Klang, multiple trips to Genting Highlands.

Best fuel consumption in 2 years was naturally recorded in the Penang trip.  13.3km/l.

SUMMARY 4 years owning the car: This car's undergone 1 set of tyre changes ALL 4 running on Michelin PS3 size 215/45R17.  Twice battery changes (1st replaced under warranty), 3 sets of wipers, changed broken centre console lid, Once used as wedding car (May 2011), Once minor accident (rear right lights replaced among others)

Without further ado, lets proceed to Log Book:

Mileage upon delivery: 0008km
Mileage last update: 68,574

Mileage last month: 70,522km
Mileage this month: 72,570km

Mileage done past 2 months: 3996km
Average mileage per month: 1512km
Purchase price: RM126,000 (less NCB)
Current value: RM93,000.
3 years depreciation: 77% retained value
Interest rate: 2.35% (back in July 2008) for 6 years loan.

FUEL CONSUMPTION (JUNE 1 to JULY 31):

Best: 13.3km/L (RM0.17/km) 80% highway/20% city, driven by my dad Petronas RON95.
WORST: 9km/L (RM0.21/km) (Shell RON95) 80% City/20% Highway driving driven by ME.

ALL TIME:

Best: 15.35km/l (RM0.13/km) (90% highway driving) (20 August 2010)
Worst: 7.1km/l (80% City driving, 20% HARD DRIVING) (October 27)

PERFORMANCE:
0-100km/h: 9.2 seconds normal acceleration (9 seconds with paddle-shift)
Top speed: Max I driven is 190km/h but I know it can go up to 227km/h. Someone from Youtube tried it.

EXPENSES:

Unknown.  As it's my dad driving the car 80% of the time.  All is not lost, I attached PREVENTATIVE Maintenance schedule.  That's pretty much how much we spent on our car from new till 70,000km service.  Note: This pricing is for MINERAL OIL and Normal Brake Oil only.
As you can see, Major Service repairs are on  interval of 20,000, 40,000, 60,000, 80,000, 100,000 and 120,000.  But MOST MAJOR ones at every 100,000km. WHOOPING RM1148+/-.

That's all...  Well there's a saying a picture's worth 1000 words...  Here are some photos:
Above: Still stylish multi-plex meters 4 years on.
Above and below: Taken nearby my office.
Above and below: Taken at Plaza Masalam car park, Shah Alam on 31 July where my Sister register for marriage at ROM.

That's all folks, see you in 3 months time Ie. October 31 2012.  An original Jeff Lim's production.  Not to be copied without credits/links/referencing.

  3. YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. Whole MALAYSIA LEFT 1 Unit and it's grey. UNLESS YOU BUY 2nd Hand/used. So my advice, either get an ALL NEW White Civic or Used FD1 1.8S-L. Try mudah!
