R.Value Case Study 1: C-segment cars

Resale Value Case Study 1: C-segment cars

In this blog entry, I'm proud to show you my 2 months research on the resale value of ALL C-segment cars.  I aim to post 1 month, 1 segment in this format.  So sit back, relax and enjoy the Case Study.

NOTE: ALL THE "After 5 years price" less 5-10% for trade in depending on condition.  This is "Private sale" price.  Note that 4th to 6th resale value very very close (Ie. Sylphy, 308 turbo and Forte).  This  shows that Peugeot and Kia's resale value's catching up to Nissan.  The Weakest link here's Sime Darby.  Both Hyundai and Ford which distributed by them fared Poorly in Resale value (bottom 2).

Eagle eye reader might noticed that I left Mitsubishi Lancer GT out.  It's due to the complicated caused by Proton.  The NEW Price: Proton Inspira 2.0, since Lancer GT Stopped production.  3 yrs and 5 yrs = Lancer GT.  Ie. Proton Inspira PUSHED DOWN Lancer GT Resale value by up to 7% P.A. annually since it's Launch in late 2010.  That's why MOST LANCER GT owners HATE Proton Inspira owners...

  3. I DID MENTIONED, less 10 - 20% off if trade in to used car. My price is researched thru Motortrader and mudah. You should sell the car yourself instead of trade in... Eg. My uncle's 2007 camry 2.4v: Dealer offer RM98k. But he sold it himself for RM10k more.
